We roused ourselves in time for the complimentary breakfast buffet, but that wasn't the best scenario for starting the day out. Picture a small space, no clean dishes or seating available, and one large extended family taking multiple waffles as soon as they arrived from the kitchen so that no one else could have any... (We later went food shopping to use the facilities of our suite.) Eventually we headed out for the day to explore the town, as everything is close by in
Seaside.

Lewis & Clark historical monuments everywhere
didn't impress Lewis as much as we thought it would... |
Every beach resort has an awesome candy store, no exception here.
45 minutes later we all emerged with hand-picked bags of salt-water taffy and gummies. |
| The indoor carousel was very popular. Thomas went as the "adult". |
| Lewis tried not to look too exuberant, but he did enjoy the rabbit ride also. |
| Of course Nora was thrilled... |
We continued onward to the beach; even without food or bathing suits we still couldn't stop ourselves.
| Perfect weather for a mild-climate girl like me. |
| Thomas, ever helpful. |
| Nora started out dry, but she amazed us by quickly embracing the chilly water. |
| The man who makes it all feasible.. |
| The one who reads the maps... |
| Sand always beckons boys... |
Had to watch this girl, running back and forth giggling and screaming.
Just when you turn to leave, thinking she's had enough, off she goes again. |
| Note to self: next time bring swimwear... |
After a sympathy lunch of boiled hot dogs (we felt sorry for the struggling vendor), Nora napped at the hotel while the boys and Scott had a riot at the indoor arcade. (They did return with prizes for us girls...) I did some window shopping while they all went into the pool. Then off in search of dinner...
| Mexican meals are always tasty! |
We returned to the beach to catch a stunning sunset. Scott was happy to experiment with his camera.
| How every night should end... |
| A passerby offers to take our photo. |
| Silly brothers... |
| Nora just goes with the flow. Bedtime, what's that?! |
| Walking the promenade. |
| Lewis goes off-road. |
| Simply gorgeous. |
And so completes our one day exploration of Seaside. We'll be back~ with sand-buckets, spare clothing and cooler in hand next time. :)

Looks lovely! Such nice photos Scott takes. And it's nice that you had mercy on the poor hot-dog vendor - his offerings certainly didn't sound appealing!
Sounds like a fabulous getaway! What wonderful photos... I particularly like the one of Nora and Lewis on the carousel. She just looks like she is loving every moment of the ride! Such a little cutie pie!
