A spectator weekend ~ Apr. 27th

Track and Field is an event that Lewis actually enjoys, unlike his older brothers in the past. He likes to run, although can never quite go as fast as the top two runners in his grade. But that doesn't stop him from trying, so we made an effort to cheer him on. Nora was happy to watch all the kids, and she was a bit of a local celebrity herself. I would hear kids passing by saying, "That's Nora..." "Who's Nora?" "You know, Lewis' sister..." to the response of "Who's Lewis?" Was pretty funny. Of course, Nora's favourite person there was Lewis. (And he didn't seem to mind her, either...)

On your mark, get set, go!
Nora also enjoys hanging out with Lewis' best friend.
Even though it was quite chilly, the freezies were a big draw as per usual.
Sadly, our afternoon was cut short when Nora stumbled downward over a curb and cut through her lower lip with her top front tooth. Once the blood cleared, I felt I should take her to the clinic for an assessment of the outer lip, as it gaped open slightly. The clinic doctor felt the lip would be okay without a suture, although I anticipate some scarring, but also recommended seeing a dentist promptly as her front tooth was loose. That's when I started to feel some distress. 1 1/2 hours later, we were sitting together in our dentist's chair. Nora was amazing! She let him examine her mouth, and then bit down on the x-ray "paper" for a "picture", while we were both draped by the x-ray shield. I have never been more proud of my brave girl for picking that moment to behave so well. The dentist felt the tooth root was most likely going to be okay, so we've spent the rest of the week giving Nora soft foods and being extra vigilant about possible falls. Not too many people noticed her fat lip the next day at Scott's TKD tournament.

Nora wore her squeaky shoes to help me know where she was.
Thomas enjoyed competing, placing third in his freestyle weapons form. We didn't stay for Lewis as Nora was losing it by then. Good thing we watched him yesterday! :)
