The Journey Home ~ Aug.12-14th

It was hard to believe that we were going to leave North Battleford after being there for such a short time. The family still in town enjoyed one last breakfast together at the motel.

With Auntie Jean, Mom and Dad.
 Cheryl, Will and Aron.
 Rob and Ellick.
 Karla, Jen and Edie.
 Lucy, Ann & Marj.
After packing, a last stop at the church, and A&W for lunch with Jean, Edie and Aron, we made one last visit to see Uncle Bud, Dad's brother-in-law, at his retirement home. We were all missing Dad's sister Joyce, who passed away unexpectedly in May.

 Great to see Uncle Bud.
Uncle Bill joined us too on his way out of town.

 A lovely setting.
The men couldn't help make some jokes about all three of them having problems with their knees. Both Bud and Bill have had amputations at the knee. Dad avoided that possiblity with his accident.

Too quick of a visit with cousins Rina and Patti, both beautiful ladies.

We headed off back into the Prairies, pleased that we decided to leave a day earlier to break up the long driving for Dad. Our destination was a really nice hotel in Camrose, AB.

Views out the window... there is beauty here.

The odd train going by breaks up the view.
I do find the sunsets here amazing.
After a very refreshing night, we did a bit of shopping before leaving. Found some great finds at Value Village, which was pretty fun to shop at with Rob and Mom. :) We did something different in travelling down through Rocky Mountain Point. Less crowded, and with fantastic views.

 Taking in a rest stop.

The best we could do was staying at this Motor Inn in Revelstoke. Unfortunately our room was upstairs, so it was a bit challenging to carry all of our stuff up there, as well as for Dad to get up there. He went to sleep pretty quickly! The next day we drove into rain near Hope, and were very happy to finally get home to our own beds. It was a fun trip together despite the occasion. I'm so thankful for my family of origin, and the one I've made with Scott too. God is so good to us all.
