After two days of nonstop activity at Disneyland, it was time for a break for Dad. Ann, Mom and kids went off to Carlsbad for the day to visit Legoland, and had a wonderful time. (We'd been there two years ago.) Here were some of their highlights.
We enjoyed our day of leisure by relaxing at the complex pool, napping and watching Frozen on DVD as it was available. We wanted to know what all the fuss was about, so now we know. :) We walked to a nearby bowling alley, and then had dinner out at one of our favourite places. It was a great day together.
The next day we were up early again to go to visit the remainder of Disneyland and California Adventure Park. Our goal was to hit Fantasyland right away; specifically to get in the line for Peter Pan. It was still a 45 minute wait for that, so we'll have to live without that experience. :) But we enjoyed many others...

| All ready to dash in... |
| Maybe not the best idea first thing after breakfast... |
| They spun faster than us... ick. |
| Buzz Lightyear fun. |
| Ann felt slightly ill, but definitely the Star Tours ride was a hit. |
| Like I said, "Grandpa" was a good sport. |
While the younger set waited for Autotopia, Thomas and I did the Matterhorn, which was like having a chiropractic adjustment to your back. Could not see the fun in that at all! But really, we missed the group ride because I was waiting for a photo-op.
| This was so fun to do! |
| Thomas was waiting for Captain America to come out next, but was a good sport. |
Another highlight was attending Jedi Training School at the Tomorrowland Terrace. We were thrilled that Abby and Nora both were picked to "train'. Nora did especially well not to be intimidated in a group like that.
| Abby gets suited up... |
| Abby fights off Darth Maul. |
| Good thing Nora didn't have to meet this guy... |
Nora was guided to fight Darth Vader, and was commended
as to having done a good job, Sweetheart! |
This is what happens when you ask a stranger to take a group picture for you. Didn't think to include the entire castle. Next time, we'll ask a staff member!
| Exploring Pirate's Lair Island. (I kept calling it Tom Sawyer Island...) |
| It's hard to look fashionable in the heat. |
| Meanwhile the guys went on Splash Mountain; Lewis secretly go-proing the rides. |
| Not so secret anymore... |
| Mom and Dad took a ride on the Steamboat. |
At this point we returned to California Adventure Park to check out Hollywood Land a bit more. Here are a couple of our attempts of Baymax from Deep Hero Six, at the Animation Academy.
| Dad's rendering. |
| Scott's |
| Monsters Inc. ride |
The atmosphere was so relaxing that we returned to the Pacific Wharf area for dinner, especially as they have several options there. Plus free Ghiradelli chocolates to sample...
We split up for the kids to experience some of the rides on Paradise Pier with Ann, while we went back to tour Cars Land shops.
Back to Disneyland we returned to catch the fireworks one last time. Sadly, technical difficulties prevented their occurence but at least we saw them our first night there.
| Getting ready for watching the Electric Light parade. |
| Some of our shopping finds... Mom liked her "three peas in a pod". |
Everyone loved Abby's aristocat... she's always loved kitties.
Here's to the end of a fantastic time at Disneyland. |
