The World of "Girly-girls" ~ August 4th, 2013

My post title is a warning to anyone who may be reading that this is all about what happens when girls get together. Watching Nora come alive in this environment was truly hilarious, as I see that this is what she loves. As it was time to get ready for the day, out came the make-up. And unlike myself, my cousins know what they're doing in this department. My sister and I never figured it out like this family of girls, so I guess we'll have to blame our mother. ;)
First thrill... open access to the make-up bag.
Second thrill... free reign with foundation application.
 Add in Katie's exuberant enthusiasm...
Then naturally seeking advice on how it looks on herself!
 Hmmm... what's next?
Katie is so fun, and having fun too...

 Gently applying lip gloss...
All those times of watching Mommy are helpful.
Jayme's next; Nora is so gentle...
I must admit I've never let Nora near my face in this way. I guess I should lighten up, literally!
Nora is feeling pretty good, though.
 Jayme's not so sure...
Once everyone was ready for "real" (think make-up remover), we headed out for brunch. With just this day together, we had a lot to pack in...

This is so opposite from my regular life, it's completely wonderful. To think of all
the things my cousins could have taught me in life if we lived closer! Auntie Jean, too...
Speaking of her, she is Gorgeous!
 Katie is stunning, too.
Jayme is another beauty... this family has great genes!
 Loving every minute of it...
As soon as we could get there, it was time for the beach. Rathtrevor just can't be beat~
What is better that girl-snacks? Cheesies, Coke and chocolate! Our time was too short...
Before dropping us off at the ferry,
Jayme had time for Nora to "do" her hair.
Nora and I enjoyed our ferry ride home, eating sushi and triple layer mint Oreos before returning to the world of testosterone. I'm thankful for a daughter to get a taste of the other side now and then. Funny how my two favourite purchases on the weekend were signs of these two phrases: one a magnet, and the other a wooden plaque which is presently placed outside the most appropriate son of the moment.... I think that sign will be rotating around the house. I'll let you guess which one sees it presently. :)

 I love being with Mommy!
 Check out my skinny pants...
Meanwhile, patiently waiting on the other side of Georgia Strait were two of the sweet guys in my life, welcoming us back home. Scott and Lewis made an afternoon of it, with checking out the view at Cyprus Bowl and then eating dinner out at Horseshoe Bay.

Home of amazing fish and chips...
 Horseshoe Bay
I'm open to suggestions as to who these people are....
This is why BC is called beautiful...
I'm hoping that by repeating these visuals it may cause some of our
extended family to feel the urge to visit the Island next summer!
Nice to know that someone is waiting for us... I'm ready to go back home.
(Especially since I have to work the next evening!)

Such fun pictures and fun cousins. What a gift to get to connect, for however short a time!

I agree completely, Ann!
