Being that Mother's Day and Father's Day always fall on a Sunday, we never start off with a relaxing brunch like many families as we have our weekly tension of getting ready for church and out the door on time. Not to complain, that's just how it is. Today's service was to be special for fathers in having a BBQ lunch afterwards. However, somehow it backfired on Scott and he found himself in the kitchen organizing food and later doing the actual BBQ with his amazing assistant, Lewis. In an effort to leave the building before dinner, our entire family pitched in to clean up the kitchen after, including both sets of grandparents. It's great to spend time together, but we'll have to delegate a little better next year! :) It was still a nice afternoon to catch up with our church family as we enjoyed our meal together.

| Nora's awesome Daddy... always serving others. |
| Nora is thrilled to see "Miss Becky", who does childcare for us sometimes. |
A special blessing that our Dads can be friends! My first reaction to Dad today was,
"What happened to your tooth?!" I guess it fell out during a restaurant meal the
night before. Didn't stop him from smiling anyway... Love you both! |
| A special dress-up day with hair inspired by cousin Abby's Princess Leia look. |
| A man of few forced smiles, Nana works on James... |
| Grandparents can do things that parents can't! :) |
| No need to force this guy... Scott loves his Mom. |
| The hip corner of youth and young adults... |
| Nora has many older friends... here's Erika. |
| Always happy to see Grandma. |
Finally time to celebrate Scott after nap-time for Nora and himself, he made us all hot dogs. (A Dad's work is never done, at least around our house...) Our gifts were low-key per usual. as he doesn't need anything, at least in our gift-budget range. :)
Happy with my gift offer to buy a new microwave of Scott's choice...
our present one with the crack in the door
has been spewing radiation for years?! |
No this is not Scott's fashion hero but rather a cookbook of recipes
from every guy's favourite show on the Food Network Channel.
Think pulled pork, corned beef hash and huge portions.... |
Here's a card we could never give to Scott, but he'd still like it..
Nora is happy to tell the world that she loves her Daddy, while the next
minute shrieking that he go away and not talk to her. This minute found her happy... |
The boys however consistently avoid photos. Lewis's strategy is at least humourous...
| Love you boys, not matter the scowls or evasive manouevres. |
Hope your Father's Day was special, without holding onto any past resentments like this... :)

Poor Scott, not getting a break! He does work so super hard. :( Glad the rest of the family chipped in to help out. And Nora has taken the hair-do to a new level of cuteness! I love the photos of everyone - even Dad with his missing tooth gave me a laugh. I love how modest and good-natured he is about most everything.
