Monday morning I awoke with a deep sigh of contentment, mixed in with yawns as well, because I was done all the birthdays and event planning until May. :) Not that I don't enjoy it all but it is a lot of work on my end. Now I could at least imagine that I might soon find time to do some of my favourite things, with having some down time from "work", at least until someone calls in sick. Eventually my reality of how I am with a 2 year old most of the time descended upon my sleepy brain, but that's okay. (Definitely easier than having 5 kids home every day, although Nora almost makes as much mess as the boys altogether.) The new year looks bright with a lot of fun times ahead for Nora and me, as there is so much to teach her and experience together. I'm hoping that her temper will become a little easier to work with, too. So with all that deep thinking done by 9 am, we headed off to "Stay & Play" to meet up with our friends.
It's becoming increasingly clear that Nora's favourite time of the morning at the recreation centre is having a snack, especially when they're better snacks than what I have! :) I think I can relate...
Meanwhile, Scott made a detour from work when he learned that the Grey Cup was on tour at Lewis' school. BC Lions player J.R. Larose had it for the day, and wanted to share it with the children. Lewis is squished in with his friends, enjoying the excitement.
This made Scott's week, for sure!
The day got even better for him when a last-minute Taekwondo demonstration was planned for later that afternoon with a group of children from Korea. Scott made another detour from work to watch that at school... he insists that he did actually get some work done that day! :)
Scott will never miss out on a photo-op with a demo team...
On Friday night, we finally got our first snowfall of the season.
Nora's dog "Snowy" checks out the weather...
Uh-oh... now what, Mom?
Lewis was happy to be out, too.
Brotherly love, sisterly joy.
Besides the excitement of snow, Nora tried on a Halloween costume that I repaired. It's a little big, but she enjoyed talking about the "bones". She has been sick with a cold since Wednesday, so it was nice to have her happy with various diversions. Hopefully she'll be on the mend soon.
