Celebrating Canada Day ~ June 30th

We were excited to have a sunny day to celebrate Canada Day early with the Vancouver chapter of FCCBC, Families with Children from China BC. (Last year we were rained out, although didn't let the wetness keep us away.) This is our third year to attend, and it is a delight to see all of the girls growing up, as we try to connect with families like ours (or not...). :)

Decked out in Canada Day gear...
Scott brings the football to keep the guys content.
Thomas and Lewis were good "sports" to come out again.
Given the opportunity, Lewis will still "play".
Lewis led the way in the water park...
 Always teaching Nora.
I think she got the idea!
It was an extra special time with friends Randy, Julie and Anna joining us... their first time.

Anna wasn't too sure at the beginning...
... but warmed up to the water eventually. Or should I say cooled off?

Red was the colour of the day!
 Nora and Anna get reacquainted.
Anna's friend Sonya from her adoption group was also there, both a year younger than Nora.
 Couldn't be much cuter!
 Fun catching up together.
Waiting with the bigger girls for group activities.
Standing at attention for "O Canada"
 Time for a group picture.
So many cameras, where to look?!
The little girl in the pink striped shirt is from the same orphanage as Nora,
adopted a year later, a year younger than Nora. Very sweet.
 The traditional group picture.
Our faithful photographer, bucking the trend with green!
Hope you had a good Canada day weekend... I guess that would be 7 weeks ago now! So sorry for the delay in posting again. I can't wait for September already when kids are back at school and the computer is occasionally free again. :) Summer is flying by...
