Thanksgiving ~ Oct. 7th

Typically of my side of the family, we start calling each other four days before the weekend to see what's going on... no one really wants to cook. Somehow it always works out, and we have a great meal and fun time together. Scott's family is good to put up with our procrastinating ways. This year we were blessed to have Scott's brother and sister-in-law, Stewart and Charlene, join us as they have moved back "home". Kellie's parents Darrell and Marylou joined us, too... only Charles was missing, with serving us burgers at A&W instead.

James gets delegated to the kitchen...
... but his buddy Will keeps him company.
Miss Nora always enjoys a house full of people.
Once again, I went overboard with the squares and desserts.
We did have weeks of sunny weather throughout September and up to Thanksgiving weekend. Taking time for a walk is a great way to reflect on our many blessings, appreciating the beauty of God's creation.

Scott gets behind on our walks now, camera in hand. :)
Thomas and Lewis still enjoy the scooters.
"Six days you shall labor, but on the seventh day you shall rest; even
during the plowing season and harvest you must rest." Exodus 34:21

Personally I'm glad we don't physically do much plowing anymore, but we benefit greatly from the harvest of others, that's for sure. Either way, I'm glad that God had the foresight to tell us that resting is a need we must take time for. Especially when we take that time to focus on Him, our souls are restored to keep doing the work that we must do. I hope you experienced a great time of Thanks-giving this past weekend, too. :)
