Gratitude...

Despite the busyness of the weekend, I have been thinking about what we are thankful for this year. Obviously, having Nora join our family of six as daughter and mei-mei (little sister) has topped the list this year, especially after hoping and praying for so long that this would really happen . Those of you who have visited my home often enough know that I love Willow Tree figurines, and so I couldn't resist arranging them together after receiving the "Parent & child" one this week. (Love it!) The boys all wanted to be the one with the angel wings holding the dog...  while no one wanted to be the one with the younger brother! (They keep me grounded in real life, but a girl can dream!) To keep everyone calm, we haven't labeled anyone. :)

Seriously though, the figurines really reflect how we've all been feeling the last couple of weeks with welcoming Nora into the family, with being quite taken with her. In some ways life keeps going in it's routines, but in the quiet moments there is a sacred reality of how God has blessed us with a new life, with the privilege and responsibility of raising her to our best abilities, with His grace. I sometimes have an overwhelming feeling that I am so undeserving of this opportunity, but then I remember that God is so amazingly good with His gifts to us despite what we have done or not. And so, we give Him our ultimate thanks.

Reading about your journey thus far has been such a blessing Susan. It has reminded me of my own "sacred responsibility" in my own home. What a joy children are and what an honour and a blessing it is to have them share our lives. I am soooooo happy for all of you! Collette and Julianna and I would love to stop by one of these days and meet Nora...oh, and see you too, of course :) Just say the word.
Much love in Christ,
Anna
